July 31st is the deadline for those with Home Inspector Licenses and Mold Remediator or Assessor Licenses. Last renewal cycle, there was no requirement for education and only to pay a renewal fee. This cycle the state has put into place an education requirement.
14 hours of continuing education are required for all three types of licensing. For Home Inspectors 12 hours must be based on the components of a home and 2 hours for hurricane mitigation training. Online training is an option or if the license holder wishes to do in class training, the link below provides additional choices:

Regarding the renewal fee that must be paid, there is currently a Fee Holiday in place. Home inspectors and any mold related license holders will only need to pay a $5.00 unlicensed activity fee in order to renew their license for the next two years. The fee must be paid before July 31, 2014 when the renewal period ends to avoid other fees.
No matter what, we recommend creating an account with the state to be able to log in, see the classes you still need, pay your renewal fee and even update basic information. For steps on how to do that, please visit our old blog. The info is still the same even if the year is off!
Good luck in 2014!
