Lately it has become clear that paper exams are becoming a thing of the past. Slowly the state is transferring each exam to computer based testing format. There are more categories being moved to this method soon.

Irrigation, Commercial Pool, Residential Pool, Service Pool and Solar Contractors examinations were converted to the computerized testing last March. October 14th and 15th of this year (2014) will be the first computer based exams to be given for the following categories:

  • Roofing
  • Underground Utilities
  • Sheet Metal, Gypsum
  • Specialty Structure
  • Gas Line
  • Pollutant Storage Contractors

The last pencil & paper administration for some of these categories will be given in June and August. This is just for the trade portions as the business and finance exam has always been a computerized test and is the same for every license category.
