It is August, and we here at Licenses, Etc. have decided to pay tribute to the Blog. Most people know what a blog is by this day and age. Why, you are reading one right now!
Wikipedia defines a blog as a discussion or informational site published on the World Wide Web and consisting of discrete entries (“posts”) typically displayed in reverse chronological order (the most recent post appears first). Google states it is a personal website or web page on which an individual records opinions, links to other sites, etc. on a regular basis.
Why do you need to know this? Because businesses use blogs to promote their interests. You have a business, don’t you? Or at least you work at one.
Blogs are a great way to keep your clients informed, up to date and keep you front of mind. The main thing about a blog is to ensure that you are posting information relevant to the people you want to read it. If you only sell your services, your readers will get bored. If you post about irrelevant information, your readers will not read it. If you target your market, they will keep coming back and soon you will be an expert in the field!
During “Blogust”, we will be making a conscious effort to post every Tuesday and Thursday. Come back tomorrow for the first official “Blogust” post and stay tuned while we bring you relevant and informational blogs throughout the month. Got a topic you want to hear about in an upcoming blog? Send us a message! Click here.
