Paperless Licenses Now in Effect

Starting back on May 7th, the Department of Business and Professional Regulation announced a new way in which they will issue licenses to contractors in the State of Florida.

The Department implemented an innovative way to expedite the licensing process for contractors. The DBPR will no longer be mailing licenses upon issuance, as licensees can now print their licenses by logging into their secure Florida contractor  account with the Department.

This change will allow new contractor licensees to enter the work force at least 7 to 10 business days earlier than used to occur. Previously, contractors would have to wait for the license to arrive in the mail. In addition to printing one’s licenses, this account will allow licensees to renew online, check the status of their continuing education needs, update contact information and print the license at their convenience, as well as print duplicate licenses as needed.
