Florida supports active military and veterans by reducing costs and fees. By reducing fees, military members and veterans can stay in work easier.
In particular, the Florida Statute (F.S). Ch. 205.171 allows disabled veterans to claim a $50 discount toward their state license fee. If you qualify for this discount, please send the DBPR a copy of your DD-214 form indicating that you are a disabled veteran. You may send that document with your next license renewal form, or you can send the document with a letter stating that you want to receive the discount to use, Licenses, Etc.
Please mail the form to:
Department of Business and Professional Regulation
2601 Blair Stone Road
The Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation (DBPR) can also waive the initial licensing fee for any individual that is currently serving, has formerly served as an active duty member of the Armed Forces of the United States, or is a spouse or surviving spouse of a member who was married to that member during a period of active duty.
If you are a military spouse, you must also submit a copy of your marriage certificate to the military service member, along with a copy of your spouse’s DD-1300 form.
The only fee waived is the initial licensing fee. Other fees (application fee or license renewal fee) are still due at the time of the application).
To access the military waiver fee form and application, click the Military License Fee waiver page.
