We know what the Contractor Licensing Board is looking for in your contractor license application. We make sure you have the right requirements, experience, passed the exams, meet all the deadlines, and paid any fees so you can get approved fast. When applying for a contractor’s license, there’s a lot to know and remember. If you work with us, we’ve got you covered.

Here are some more questions/answers that can help you with information for before, during, and after the application process.

  1. Do you have to take exams in a certain order?
  1. It does not matter the order in which you take the exams. All that is required is that you pass all the exams that are required for your license. For example, for a general contractor license, you need to take the General Contract Administration Exam, the General Project Management Exam, and the Business and Finance Exam and pass all three.
  1. Do you need to have a certain amount of money to get a license in Florida?
  1. In Florida, you do not need a certain balance in a bank account to get a contractor’s license, but the State Licensing Board will look at your FICO score. If your FICO sore isn’t high enough, you will have to get a bond, and the amount is determined by your FICO score.
  1. Can you convert a county license to a state license?
  1. No, you cannot convert a county license into a state license in Florida. However, you can pass your license from one country to the next, if allowed in that county. If allowed, you will need to fill out an application and pay a fee.
  1. Can your other state license be accepted in Florida?
  1. It depends. Sometimes, two states have a reciprocal license agreement, which means the state’s licensing board recognizes professionals accepted by another state. In Florida, you need to get the board’s approval and appear before the board and show proof of passing an exam like Florida’s exam, insurance, credit, and finances, etc.
