How to Use Social Media to Connect with Clients

As a contractor, if you’re not on social media these days…you’re behind. Every industry has found a way to share and sell their services across social media platforms, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic when it wasn’t possible to meet or chat with clients face to face.

Whether in a global pandemic or not, social media is a great way to connect and reconnect with your current clients and a potential client base. People spend a lot of time online, especially during the pandemic, so it’s easier than ever to find clients on the interest.

So, how can you promote yourself on social media?

  • Post regularly. You don’t want your page to be inactive, because people will not know if you are still currently working or in business.
  • Let people know all safety precautions you have put in place because of COVID-19 including hand washing, protective gear, sanitizing and more.
  • Make sure you are on multiple social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram.
  • Share a photo slideshow or video a job you worked on, so people can see your work.
  • Share testimonials.
  • Ask people to ask you questions about your job and specialty. You can either make a video answering the questions or respond to each question individually in the comments.
  • Buy and create a Facebook AD.
  • Share a how-to or DIY video.

You always want to add more content and engage with people on your social media page. This page/profile is a reflection of you and your business. Social media is another marketing tool to help you find and retain clients. Although posting to social media may be time-consuming or require some planning, it will be worth it in the end as you get new projects and clients you may have never had before.
